Dr. Hope Sanford George, owner, is a lifelong resident of central Virginia and has 10 years experience as a classroom teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and professor. She holds Doctorate and Master's degrees in Educational Administration from The George Washington University. Her Bachelor's of Arts in English Education was earned from The College of William and Mary after earning her Associate of Arts from Richard Bland College.
As a local educator, Dr. George has designed a technology-rich, individualized instructional program to support students in achieving their full potential in school and on the Virginia Standards of Learning tests.

The importance of Reading and Math for all schooling
Literacy and numeracy skills are the foundation for all student learning. Our literacy instruction incorporates engaging, colorful, non-fiction software and print materials that support Science and Social Studies topics. This reading across the content area helps students become better readers of textbooks and other reference materials. Our Math instruction uses adaptive technology, manipulatives, and real-world application of concepts to help students achieve mastery of necessary skills.
Addressing Gaps in Achievement
Total Tutors students in Virginia are given a comprehensive pre-assessment in Reading and Math to address areas of strength and gaps in achievement. A prescriptive learning path is designed for each student accoridng to his or her individual needs. Parents receive frequent progress reports and supplemental practice materials for students.
