Volatility spiked and markets declined this quarter as uncertainty about the economic recovery overcame optimism. Though challenges remain, we see the economy stabilizing, albeit at slower growth rates. Over the last year, the market has not paid much attention to the companies we think will do best in this environment, but that appears to be changing. In the meantime, overreactions in this uncertain environment are creating opportunities. Being prepared and vigilant will allow us to take advantage of them.
We believe that shared interdisciplinary reading lists and group discussion around innovative ideas and ways of thinking help us view the world differently and thus contribute to our process and teamwork. They also helps us hedge against emerging trends being exploited before we can capitalize on them for the benefit of our clients. Here is the list of books we have enjoyed and found stimulating; we trust you will too.
