Springfield Veterinary Center is a full service veterinary facility established in July 2000 by Dr. Steve Escobar. We offer full medical diagnosis and treatment, pharmacy, dental, surgical, emergency care, and x-ray services, including OFA and Penn Hip. Both Dr. Escobar and Dr. Scotti are Penn Hip certified. Dr. Kolster adds reproductive specialty services as a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenology. Springfield Veterinary Center is an accredited member of AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association).
We undergo regular inspections by AAHA to ensure that we comply with the association’s highest quality standards of care. These standards cover every aspect of our facility including surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, pet health records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental, and nursing care, diagnostics and anesthesiology. Approximately 14% of animal hospitals in North America are accredited by AAHA.
The Canine Reproductive Center at Springfield Veterinary Center is well-known for standards of excellence and progressive treatments. Dr. Escobar and Dr. Kolster perform routine canine semen freezing and storage. They also perform artificial inseminations, surgical artificial inseminations and progesterone timing as well as ultrasounds to determine pregnancy. Dr. Chris Scotti joined our practice in April 2003 and previously worked for 7 years with Dr. Escobar. Dr. Scotti initiated and established the Penn Hip protocol for Broad St. Veterinary Hospital.
