Grandparents / Donor Appreciation DayThis coming Tuesday, November 23, 2010 is the day that Covenant Christian Academy celebrates Grandparents Day and recognizes individuals, families, and corporations that have generously donated monies to our school. We will have a catered Thanksgiving-style meal which is beingdonated bya family of one our students.The festivities will begin at 11 AM and will end at 1 PM. Spelling Bee Fund Raising Event
Spell Check will be postponed until Tuesday, December 14, 2010. This will give our students additional time to get more sponsors for their words which will not only encourage them to study hard and do well on the spelling test, but also raise monies for the school.

If you know of any larger organizations that can contribute their aluminum cans, please let us know e.g. your place of employment, church, civic groups, anybody who might go through a lot of aluminum cans, and be willing to donate them to a good cause.

Covenant Christian Academy Launches Scholarship Fund Drive
Max Meadows, Virginia, September 14, 2010 Covenant Christian Academy (CCA) has just embarked on a Scholarship Fund Drive with the goal of $90,000 by the fall of 2011.
The school already has $31,500 in its Scholarship Fund, enough for seven full scholarships. But according to Administrator Mike Whitaker, it will take at least 20 full scholarships to meet the current needs of area students.
There are dozens of kids in our area who would benefit from the Christ-centered college prep education that we offer, but whose families cannot afford the full tuition, he said last Monday night, following the Boards unanimous vote to endorse the new fund drive.
Scholarship donations are pooled into tuition assistance packages to help all the students who could not otherwise attend the school. We always ask the family to contribute at least 50%, said Whitaker. This encourages family involvement in the childs education, and helps leverage the available funds for maximum benefit.
CCA is asking area businesses, churches, foundations, and individuals to consider sponsoring a full $4500 scholarship. Donations to the Scholarship Fund have already come from people and organizations in Bland, Bluefield, Draper, Hillsville, Lexington, Max Meadows, Pulaski, Richlands, Roanoke, Waynesboro, and Wytheville.
Covenant Christian Academy is a non-denominational private school located in Max Meadows, Virginia. It draws students chiefly from Pulaski, Wythe, and Carroll counties, starting with Pre-K. CCAs vision is to become the best Christ-centered college preparatory school in the region.
On standardized tests, Covenant students consistently score 23% to 49% higher than the national average of public, private, and home-school students combined. They score in the 90th percentile and higher on college entrance examinations. In 2009, according to Stanford Testing, CCA students performed, on average, 2.4 grade levels higher than their own.
Last May CCA graduated its first two seniors, both of whom scored in the top 5% in the nation on their SATs.
