There's a reason we are named the Ellington Fellowship Playhouse...Fellowship is our middle name. Our intimate setting has you joining strangers at your table that will be your friends before the show is over. That's if you sit at the table long enough. Many of our shows will have you on your feet before you know it. One of the Ellington's goals is to bring people together through music, and you'll find a diverse group of people enjoying the wide array of music styles we offer. Our main shows feature top national and regional acts that run the gamut-jazz, rock, blues, zydeco, folk, you name it, we've had it, or we will.
Plus our "Ellington Fridays" let you wind down from you workweek with some of this area's best bands. Ellington Fridays and our outreach program, MusicBridge, are in keeping with our organization's second goal- to identify, cultivate and expose artistic talent in our community.
We have a unique setting in historic downtown Lynchburg, and once you've tried it, you'll be hooked. We'd like to think it's one of the area's best kept secrets...but since we've been open since 1984-presenting artists such as-Taj Mahal, Junior Walker, Delbert McClinton, The Persuasions, Roy Buchanan, Ellis Marsalis, Jimmy Thackery, Duke Robillard, John Hammond and Terrance Simien -it's not such a secret anymore!
