TBS Havdallah Dinner
Save the Date: Saturday, December 11th, for Temple B'nai Shalom's Havdallah dinner. This is a wonderful event, a great way to meet new people in the temple and to greet old friends. In the past we have had close to 300 people participate. We break up into groups of 8 to 12 for dinner at people's homes and then meet back at the temple for a short Havdallah service and dessert. We hope that all adult temple members will participate in some way, as host or guest. If you host, you do not have to prepare the entire meal, your guests will all help by bringing something to create a fabulous dinner and a wonderful atmosphere for making new friends! If you think you would be willing to open up your home and host this truly wonderful event, please call or e-mail Julia Salpeter.
Please help to make it possible for many families of the Lorton Community Action Center to eat as we do and have a complete Thanksgiving dinner. Please bring only the items on the list. Bring the following items with the letter of your last name to the Temple and put them in the Thanksgiving box in the lobby. We also need Giant/Shoppers Food Cards in the amount of $10 to add to each basket. Last Name: A-B Two cans tuna; C, D, E Two cans of fruit and 2 cans evaporated milk; F-G Two cans each corn, green beans, and peas; H-J Two large boxes of pie crust mix and 1 box brownie mix; K-L One box of brownie mix and 1 bottle of cooking oil; M-R One bottle of poultry seasoning & 1 bottle of cooking oil; S Two boxes single serving packages of instant oatmeal; T-Z One small bag of brown sugar and 1 large can ofsweet potatoes. We are offering another way to donate if you cannot get to the store: you can donate grocery store gift cards to TBS. Grocery Store gift cards can be placed in Marilyn Morrison's box in the Temple office. If you have any questions, contact Judy Polivy.
