We have a wonderful 1850s violin that has been professionally restored and features the original 13 star flag and American eagle on the back. A true early American rarity for the music connoisseur! Of course, our early American pre-1865 clocks are always a feature and our great collection of pocket watches never fails to please. We have also continued to expand our book selection with a special emphasis on black history, Virginia history, the Civil War and both World Wars. We also have a wonderful set of Shakespeares complete works and the Tribute book to the women of the Union and their activities during the Civil War. Jeff and Sue Ade began antiquing in the mid 90s in the DC area with their first purchase of an antique clock. Weve been locating and providing antiques for friends over the years and eventually opened a formal business in the Williamsburg Antique Mall in 2006. Our real desire was to turn our hobby into a business serving Williamsburg, Richmond and the Middle Peninsula. We opened DoveTail Antiques in March of 2007 with some friends.
As your DoveTail Antiques team, we offer a wealth of experience with a great variety of experience in antiques and collectibles including porcelain, ironstone, glassware, 1800s parlor lamps, stoneware, primitives and European, country and Victorian furniture. In addition, DoveTail Antiques has Williamsburgs best selection of antique wall, mantel and tall case clocks and music boxes larger than any other in the Mid Atlantic region providing a shopping experience for husband and wife alike.
Jeff and Sue offer a large selection of antique clocks and music boxes that Jeff services at Williamsburg Clocks. When each clock is appropriately serviced, it is brought to DoveTail Antiques for sale. Jeff also works on cleaning and tweeking all of the antique furniture and has held working sessions with customers how to properly clean and take care of their wood furniture. Its a hobby, passion and vocation all in one the goal is to offer fine antiques and unique pieces everyone can afford with a working knowledge of how to take care of them.
What do Seth Thomas, Roseville, Staffordshire, Victorian, French revival, a Virginia valley country pie safe, Persian rugs and Stanley tools all have in common? Theyre all part of the great variety of wonderful antiques in the 3600 square feet of DoveTail Antiques located in the old Candle Factory at Norge. Its been quite an interesting transition from the 40 year old facility to the new and improved version! If you havent seen the Candle Factory lately, please stop by you may not recognize it new colors, new blue metal roof and beautiful white columns out front form a lovely faade for strolling around the shops and restaurant. Its a great location - easy to get to for local folks and visitors alike, plenty of free parking and public restrooms for your convenience.
We are located in the old Soap and Candle facility - 7521 Richmond Road (Route 60) in Norge. DoveTail Antiques is one mile off exit 231A of Interstate 64 and open Monday through Saturday 10am 5pm.
