The owners, staff and guests of The Madison welcome you to the historic village of Orange, Virginia. Rich in Revolutionary and Civil War history, local wineries and the home of our fourth president, James Madison, Orange is just 75 miles south of Washington, D.C. We are only 35 minutes from Charlottesville and one hour and 15 minutes from the state capital of Richmond. We are located beside the Orange County Historical Society and across the street from the James Madison Museum. Directly across the street you will also find the only church Thomas Jefferson ever designed.
General Ulysses S. Grants Union troops were headed to Richmond on May 4, 1864, when they confronted Gen. Robert E. Lees Confederate Army of Northern Virginia. The ensuing confrontation, The Battle of the Wilderness involved more than 160,000 Union and Confederate soldiers. This battlefield is only minutes away from The Madison here in Orange County.
The Madison combines a unique blend of quality retirement living with assisted living. While the focus of our property is assisted living services they are provided at no additional costs as we realize assistance with the activities of daily living is natural as we enjoy our golden years.
