The first of The Homesteads golf links six holes in all are laid out. Here lies the site of the legendary First Tee, the countrys oldest tee in continuous use.
The first golf links, referred to as The Old Course, is expanded to nine holes.
President William McKinley tees off at the First Tee, officially making him the first sitting President to play golf.
A fire which started in the pastry shop burned the entire resort. Within a year, (March 1902) the resort was rebuilt.
