Makemie Woods is a Camp and Conference Center owned and operated by the
Presbytery of Eastern Virginia of the Presbyterian Church (USA) , and supported by the
Peninsula District of the United Methodist Church . Our ministry is providing a
beautiful outdoor setting where children and adults can gather, play, pray and learn,
encouraging one another in the name of Jesus Christ

Makemie Woods offers a great summer camping program for kids entering first grade through Sr Hi. This awesome quality program is affordable, and financial assistance is available.
Our summer program for 2010 was terrific, with many parents and campers telling us about how their lives have been affected and changed by the camp experience. Brochures for next summer will be available in January 2011. In the meantime, we will leave 2010 info so you can get a feel for the program.
Our EcoEternity Forest is thriving!
EcoEternity is a conservation friendly, green alternative to traditional burial in a cemetery. Our customers love that they are preserving the forest and selecting beautiful final resting places that are great for the environment and meaningful to visit. RECYCLE YOUR CELL PHONES with MW
Makemie Woods has partnered with Recycling Fundraiser to be good stewards of the environment. We collect old cell phones, ink jet cartridges and laptops, and they recycle or rebuild it and preserve the environment. And they pay us money for the Scholarship Fund!
