This course teaches a basic understanding of handguns, their function and operation, and fundamentals of shooting safely and effectively.
The course has been structuwhite to ensure a comfortable classroom and range environment.
Classroom and range are located at the same building. The course is interesting and fast-paced. The facilities are handicapped-accessible.
Our instructor has 18 years of experience in the firearms industry, and is college-trained teaching professional, which makes the instruction positive and reinforcing.
Course recognized by all Virginia Courts.

Basic pistol knowledge and fundamentals
Aspects of safe gun handling
How to clean handguns
Basic fundamentals of pistol shooting
Procedures for obtaining a concealed carry permit
Actual firing of a handgun on the range

What will I need to bring with me?
You will need to fire 25 rounds of ammunition. You may use your own handgun, or you may rent one at the range for $5.00. Ammunition is available for purchase. Hearing and eye protection are furnished.
How old must I be to take the course?
While the Concealed Carry Permit is available only to those 21 or older, the course is open to all 16 and older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What will I receive after completing the course?
After successful completion of the course, a certificate is awarded which shows the Court you have received appropriate training.
What does the class consist of?
Approximately 2 hours of this three hour course is classroom instruction, with the remaining time spent at the range.

R. Lee Ermey Slideshow
On October 12, 2007, we held our annual Glock Day event. We had the pleasure of having R. Lee Ermey "The Gunny" attend the event. The Gunny took part in an autograph, meet and greet, and picture-taking session. We had a great weekend, and look forward to having him visit us again in the future.

Firearm Transfer Form
Bobs is happy to receive or ship transfers for our customers. Our charge is $30.00 for each firearm shipped in or out, plus actual freight and insurance for firearms shipped by us. We must have a valid Federal Firearms License in hand to accept firearms from you for shipment to other dealers, or a copy of a current photo I.D. card from an individual* shipping to us. Use of the downloadable form on this page will expedite our service to you.
For those people picking up firearms at Bobs, please bring identification appropriate for conducting a background check, since this is a necessary part of the transfer procedure. (Resident or non-resident - Photo I.D. more than 30 days old issued by your state of residence, together with a document that has the same name and address as the photo I.D. such as a bank check, vehicle registration, utility bill or copy of a lease, hunting or fishing license, passport, etc.) Military stationed in Virginia - Copy of orders showing that Virginia is your permanent duty station and military I.D. card.

*Federal regulations require that we know the identity of anyone shipping a firearm to us. It is absolutely necessary for an individual shipping a firearm to us for transfer to provide a legible copy of his drivers’ license or state-issued identification card with the firearm(s). Those who do not provide this information will have the firearm(s) returned, C.O.D. for freight and handling charges.
