Established in Ashburn Virginia in 2002, The Mintons Academy of Music is now in its 8th year of educating and inspiring more than 250 students per week. Throughout our 8 year history, what has set The Mintons Academy apart from other music teaching facilities is our philosophy that music is for everyone. We firmly believe that anyone can learn to play. With a team of 15 instructors and staff, our expertise in private and group lessons has made The Mintons Academy a place were young and old, beginners and advanced players, can come together to create and learn the language of music. Our mission is to continue to empower students through education and to give them the tools and abilities to make their own music.

The Benefits of Music Lessons
Early musical training helps develop brain areas involved in language and reasoning. There is also an underlying link between music and spatial intelligence (the ability to perceive the world accurately and to form mental pictures of things). This kind of intelligence is critical to the thinking necessary for everything from solving advanced mathematics problems to being able to pack a book-bag with everything that will be needed for the day. Music Lessons, such as the ones given by Mintons outstanding and experienced teachers; can also help students to learn & think creatively, as well as enhancing teamwork skills and discipline. Recent studies show that students who study the arts are more successful on standardized tests such as the SAT. They also achieve higher grades in high school. So let your kids play the instrument of their choice.
