Vicky Troy, MS, CMT decided to leave the high stress corporate world of international affairs and started her own bodyworks business from her home/studio in 2005. Now called Energy & Serenity Bodyworks, Ms. Troy has been involved in the healing arts for over 10 years and has a broad knowledge of numerous Eastern and Western modalities which she incorporates into every massage. A former world-class athlete, Ms. Troy is not only a certified bodyworker, she is also a daily yoga and martial arts practitioner as well as a professional musician.
Ms. Troy has over 1,200 hours in massage therapy/bodywork training. She graduated at the top of her class from the National Massage Therapy Institute in Falls Church, Virginia. She is also certified in Traditional Thai Massage from the Thai Institute of Healing Arts in Sterling, Virginia. Additionally, she is certified in a Korean Healing System from the Dahn Healer School in Sedona, Arizona, where she also earned a black belt with a swordwork specialty in DahnMuDo (a Korean healing martial arts form). Ms. Troy is also an Advanced Apprentice of Hypnotherapy at the Northern Virginia Hypnotherapy Institute training under Dr. J. Coleman of the Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa
While attending the NMTI, Ms. Troy developed two new and integrated modalities of bodywork which she termed "Best of East/West Combination" and "Activation Bodywork". Both forms are the cutting edge of bodywork as both contain eastern forms of energywork into a western base massage. The National Institute has requested numerous demonstrations of the bodywork to the other classes and a video of the two forms is in progress. Both forms are now the signature massage modalities of Energy & Serenity Bodyworks along with four other modalities she's recently developed including: HypnoMassage, FunMassage, Nearly Tantric, and EsaTan. As testament to Ms. Troy's skill, strength and endurance, in October of 2006, she was one of the 17 hand-picked advanced NMTI students to participate on the Semper Fi Fund Massage Team at the Marine Corps Marathon. The team gave post-race massages to 202 athletes in 7 hours. Ms. Troy received her formal education from George Washington University, George Mason University and Oxford University. She has a Bachelors Degree in Diversity & Leadership Studies and a Masters Degree in Conflict Analysis & Resolution with post-graduate work in Music as a Healing Art.
