I have devoted my career to the practice of criminal law. I have represented clients in the courts of over thirty-five Virginia jurisdictions, as well as in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

I am a former prosecutor for the city of Fredericksburg. During my tenure with the City, I prosecuted nearly every imaginable type of case and routinely advised and trained the officers of the Fredericksburg Police Department. I also served as a special prosecutor in Hanover, Spotsylvania, and Stafford Counties.

As lead counsel I have defended people accused of crimes ranging from simple speeding to first degree murder.

I am admitted to practice in the state courts of Virginia and in the United States District Courts of the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, as well as the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. I serve as Chair of the Sixth District Committee of the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board. I am a member of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and also serve on the Rappahannock Area ASAP Policy Board, the first defense attorney in recent memory to hold that position. I am a member of the Fredericksburg Area Bar Association, and serves on the Judicial Selection and By-Laws Committees. I support the University of Richmond School of Law, having served on the Board of Directors of the Young Graduates Association.
