To ensure that our students are receiving the most thorough, complete curriculum available.
Firmly hold to the offering of our curriculum both at our facility and through the homestudy courses at a reasonable and fair cost.
In doing so, we will make the therapy more accessible to those wanting to pursue a career as a Certified Equine or Canine Massage Therapist.

Equissage is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider. Our Provider number is: 450737-08. Both the equine and canine programs provide 50 hours of continuing education.

Equissage is the oldest and leading trainer of animal massage therapists in the world. Since 1991, Equissage has graduated more than 10,000 Equine & Companion Animal Massage Technicians, from every state in the US and 20 different countries around the world. As of March 2008, Equissage began it's nationwide and worldwide expansion of satellite teaching locations. Equissage's main concern for excellence in the teaching of equine massage and the desire to make the program more accessible deemed it necessary for us to expand.
Our Instructors are trained professionals under the leadership of Mary Schreiber, who developed the first certificate program in equine sports massage therapy. Equissage does not certify its graduates to teach their own programs. However, in order to certify more technicians in the Equissage program, Equissage has created an expansion program, which allows Equissage certified graduates to teach the Equissage program in certain locations. For more information on the expansion program, please contact us.
The facility lies in what is more popularly called "Virginia Hunt Country" Located in the village of Round Hill, The Equissage Horse Farm is approximately 45 miles northwest of Washington D.C.
Many graduates work for the very top echelon of owners and trainers both in the racing world, as well as on the show circuit. Some have been selected to work with the US Equestrian team at the Olympics, while others have worked on winners of Triple Crown Races. Read our Testimonials for examples of the success stories from our graduates.

In early 2000, Equissage added a home study certificate program in canine massage therapy and now offers it as an on site course as well. It has proven to be every bit as successful and popular as the original equine massage program.
Equissage is proud to announce the equine massage program is also available as a home-study course.
Both the equine and canine massage home-study programs just received The R. Monroe Award. This award is only given to a Home Study/Distance Education program whose curriculum meets the high standard set forth. Our curriculum was thoroughly reviewed and found to be worthy of the award. We are very proud to be the 2005 recipient.
Equissage also offers the following books and videos:
