Inspections, Inc. was founded in 1991 to serve the home inspection needs of the New River Valley of Virginia. Since that time, it has completed over 3,200 inspections and has grown to be the largest inspection firm in the region. The five Inspector Bobs have over one hundred and eighty combined years of experience in the building, property management/maintenance, and inspection industries.
Services include comprehensive building inspections, radon testing in accordance with EPA protocols, septic walkovers and water sampling. All home inspections are conducted in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).

A home inspection is a visual inspection of the readily accessible areas of a house and its systems. The inspection includes a visual examination of the house from top to bottom. During the course of a home inspection, Inspector Bob will examine the heating system, the central air conditioning system (when temperature permits), the interior plumbing and electrical systems, the roof and visible insulation, walls, ceilings, floors, windows and doors, the foundation, basement, crawlspace and visible structure.
A written report will be provided to our client within 24-48 hours after the inspection. Inspector Bob will present a verbal summary covering material problems observed at the end of the inspection or by phone to an out of town client.
The inspection and report will meet or exceed the Standards of Practice of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
No house is perfect! A home buyer, soon to be home owner, should expect problems and maintenance tasks after move-in and during the period of ownership. The home inspection is a useful risk mitigation tool that will help the home buyer plan for those expenditures of ownership. The inspection should make the client aware of potential or actual problems, visible to the trained eye of the inspector. The client should feel assured that they are making a well-informed purchase decision and should have peace of mind about the condition of the property and its systems.

A home inspection is not intended to detect design and building code compliance, nor cosmetic deficiencies. Comments on cosmetic conditions such as painting, wallpapering, and carpeting are excluded. It is not intended to determine air or water quality, nor the presence, absence, or type of insulation or asbestos. Determining the presence or absence of lead paint, or any toxic or hazardous materials or substances, environmental hazards, rodents, insects or pests is beyond the scope and purpose of a home inspection.
Inspection reports are furnished on an opinion only basis. They are made in the best exercise of our ability and judgement, solely for the information of our clients.
