Quailview Kennels was a concept of many years of thoughtful planning for the care, training and breeding of your special canine friend. After graduating from college with an Equestrian degree and while training horses and teaching riding, Tamara discovered she had a serious back problem that ended her riding career. Having been raised on the family farm and caring for all sorts of animals since she was able to walk, her love and attachment for them never diminished. Taking a job with a local veterinarian, the need for proper and sanitary housing for pets, and the lack thereof, became a very clear, and the idea for a modern, sanitary and caring kennel business was born. While working for many years with small animals at several animal hospitals, ideas, needs and proper training needed to organize and implement a successfull kennel operation were reseached and obtained. In 2001 the dream became reality. Tamara and her husband Bruce opened the doors toQuailView Kennels and the business has expanded to include training classes held weekly, sales of training aids, grooming, and pickup and delivery for special occasions.
The kennel is located just 10 miles East of Culpeper Virginia on US Rte 3; 8 miles West of Lake of the Woods and 25 miles West of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Still on the family farm, there are spacious fields for training, a lighted training field for evening classes, a large fenced exercise area and easy access and parking. Each kennel is sanitized at least 2 times daily and all feed utensils are picked up, washed and sanitized after each feeding. Only stainless steel feeding and watering pans are used. The spacious 2000+ square foot main kennel building is all steel with concrete floors and fully insulated for year round temperature control. The heat is furnished by an overhead central heating system and summer cooling with air handlers designed to provide each kennel with fresh, clean circulated cool air.
As with any well governed kennel, strict adherence is made to each pet arriving that they have current vaccinations (DHLPP, Bordetella, and Rabies) and be free of fleas and ticks. QuailView Kennel is a cerified licensed business operating under the regulation of ArticleVII, ss4-4-121 Culpeper County Code and Article 3.1, chapeter27.4 of Title 3.1 of the Virginia State Code. The kennel is inspected regularly by the Department of Animal Services and has always recieved 100% rating.
