The Law Firm of Arquilla and Associates, PLC was established in 1997. Our Northern Virginia office is located immediately south of the Washington Capital Beltway (I-495/I-95) within one mile of the South Van Dorn Street exit at the intersection of Beulah and Franconia Roads in Fairfax County.
The attorneys of our law firm are retired Army judge advocate colonels who have over 50 years of combined active duty military service, as well as many additional years of experience serving in high-level legal positions within the Federal and state governments. We thoroughly understand the unique issues involving military families in all areas of the law.
Although our law firm has handled cases throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, as well as some cases in distant states and overseas, the primary focus of our practice continues to be in the Northern Virginia jurisdictions of the City of Alexandria and the counties of Fairfax, Prince William, Arlington, and Stafford. Our clients, many of whom are military service members, government employees, and their families, reside not only in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, but also throughout the United States and in nations throughout the world. Many of our clients are also pursuing "second careers" after having served in the military or in government, or have fully retired, and now have their retirement homes in this geographical area.
In addition, we work in association with a number of law firms in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, and in other states, as well as in foreign countries, to help clients with legal problems and needs outside our geographical area, or in areas of the law, such as elder law and immigration law, requiring special expertise.
As former career military officers, the lawyers of our law firm fully understand the legal problems and needs of military families and the personal sacrifices that arise from serving our country. They are especially concerned about those who are economically or geographically disadvantaged in protecting or asserting their legal rights by virtue of their military duties. Our law firm therefore has an active pro bono practice aimed at helping military families with limited financial resources. Generally, our pro bono practice is focused on helping E-3s and below and their spouses, when they have no source of income other than military pay.
Our law firm participates in the lawyer listing service of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA-formerly The Retired Officers Association), and we are on the referral lists of various government agencies and military legal assistance offices. Having possessed top-secret government security clearances, our lawyers can assist clients occupying sensitive positions with their personal legal problems and needs, and can provide counsel on legal problems that arise within their employment.
